Ambassador sales up

Mumbai: Hindustan Motors Ltd has registered a significant increase in sales of its Ambassador car this October. The company sold 979 units as compared to 880 units in the corresponding period last year, recording an 11.5 per cent increase. According to a communique from the company, the strong trend in Ambassador's sales has been continuing since the beginning of the current financial year.

Between April 2004 and October 2004, Hindustan Motors sold 6,617 units of the Ambassador compared to 6,301 units in the corresponding period last year, recording a 5 per cent increase in sales.

Commenting on theAmbassador's performance, Soni Shrivastav, general manager, corporate communications, C K Birla Group said, "The growth in sales performance of the Ambassador can be attributed towards the ongoing initiatives taken by the company. Hindustan Motors through continuous research and development has been bringing new variants in the market, which has helped the Ambassador grow in sales"
