Hero Honda continues its market dominance

Mumbai: Hero Honda, the ''World No.1'' two-wheeler company, continues its strong leadership of the Indian two-wheeler industry.

In June 2004, the company sold a total of 2,00,922 bikes, crossing the 2-lakh mark yet again for the fifth time in the last nine months. The company has registered a growth of 25 per cent over sales during June 2003 (1,60,889 units).

For the quarter ending June 2004, the cumulative sale of the company was 6,09,123 units, registering a growth of 33 per cent. The company had sold 4,58,784 units during the corresponding period last FY.

Hero Honda''s entry-level model CD-Dawn continues its lead in the entry-level segment. The bike has recently been rated as the best on total customer satisfaction, in its segment, in a nation-wide survey conducted by TNS Automotives.

The company added 1,69,378 new members to its unique CRM initiative — the Hero Honda Passport Programme — during the period April - June 2004 as compared to 1,08,024 added during the same period last year, thereby witnessing an increase of 57 per cent.

The company is currently taking forward its campaign to introduce the Hero Honda SBI credit card in 60 cities across the country.
