HMSI launches 150 cc CB Unicorn Dazzler

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India yesterday launched the CB Unicorn Dazzler bike, in the presence of Atsushi Amataka, president, Honda R&D India; Shinji Aoyama, CEO & president, HMSI, and NK Rattan, operating head – sales & marketing, HMSI.

The CB Unicorn Dazzler is priced Rs62,900 ex-showroom (Delhi) and combines slick styling with advanced features and offers an impressive 60 kmpl mileage. Powered by a 150 cc carburetted engine the Dazzler delivers a power output of 14 bhp and comes with tubeless tyres and alloy wheels. The Dazzler offers the best pick up and mileage combination in the segment.

The bike is equipped with maintenance-free battery and viscous air filter for added convenience and given the fact that it strictly conforms to BS-III norms, the bike is environment friendly like all other Honda products. However, the company has maintained that its sibling-CB Unicorn would continue to exist in the segment.

The CB Unicorn Dazzler which will be available at showrooms from the end of May 2010 offers the customer a choice of colours - Armour Gold Metallic, Pearl Nightstar Black, Sword Silver Metallic and Pearl Siena Red.

In its statement the company says ''The bike has aggressive style with floating side cowl, aggressive front, screenless front cowl, 110/80 wider rear tyre and half-chain case. Other attractive features include: two-tone seat, new design mirror, handle bar weights, 3D emblem, digital meter and front & rear disc brake. Various advanced equipments have been added in the bike which makes it the best in its segment.''

According to Shinji Aoyama, president & CEO, HMSI, with good appreciation from Indian customers, Honda has always been on the growth track in India and had achieved a sales of 12.7 lakh units in 2009-10 and had set a target of achieving 18 per cent growth this year by sales of 15 lakh units. He added that with its fun, safety and environment initiatives Honda was constantly trying to emerge as a company admired by society and the launch of New CB Unicorn Dazzler was to satisfy the diversified needs of the Indian customer. He added that the company would continue to provide such unique products for the healthy expansion of fun-biking culture in India.

''The CB Unicorn Dazzler will be available to customers by end of May. It is an ideal bike for young people who aspire for aggressive style and performance. The bike offers blistering performance by delivering a power of 14 bhp and a mileage of 60 km/litre. With a price-tag of Rs 62,900 (Delhi Ex-Showroom), the bike is a very attractive option for the Indian

youngsters. We plan to sell 120,000 units of CB Unicorn and CB Unicorn Dazzler in the first year,'' Rattan said during the new product presentation.
