Essar Global acquires US BPO firm from Chrys Capital for Rs100 crore

Mumbai: Essar Global has acquired Global Vantedge, a Bermuda-based BPO company, from Chrys Capital for about Rs 100 crore.

The acquisition is expected to generate over $25 million in additional revenues to Essar's BPO business, Essar said in a release.

Essar has a presence in the BPO segment through its wholly owned subsidiary Aegis BPO and this is Essar's fourth acquisition in one year - the other three being Customer First and Orion in India and Technion in the US.

"Global Vantedge has built a great practice over the last five years with extremely demanding clients, some of them being Aegis' current customers. This puts us in a strong position and will lead to deeper engagement with our existing and future clients,'' Aparup Sengupta, CEO of the BPO business of Essar Global in India, said in a statement.

The San Jose, Costa Rica-based Global Vantedge, which employs over 1,400 globally, has a presence in the US, the UK and Australia and has a facility in Gurgaon, India.

Vantedge operates in the banking, telecom and automobile verticals and this acquisition will enable Essar to offer the full suite of services around customer life cycle management, said Sengupta.
