Electrolux Kelvinator to unveil a slew of products in Kerala soon

Electrolux Kelvinator managing director and CEO Rajeev Karwal says his company hopes to earn a turnover of Rs 10 crore during the Onam season. In the process, it plans to raise the share of Kerala in its total sales from the current 5 per cent to about 12 per cent.

The company''s total turnover is currently Rs 480 crore. In the refrigerator sector, the company has launched two models in Direct Cool called Oxyfresh and Oxycool and two models in frost-free range, EKP 220 and EKL 220.

The prices start from Rs 7,590. In the washing machines range the company has a presence in the semi-automatic and automatic ranges. Now it is launching the Washy Talky machine, which will guide the user through the washing process.

Karwal says the company has 21-per cent market share in refrigerators while it is No 2 in the front-loading washing machine sector. "The refrigerator section showed a growth of 14 per cent last year."

In Kerala, from 15 August, it is offering an assured gift with every purchase of an Electrolux Kelvinator fridge or a washing machine. In all, the company will be offering Rs 1-crore worth gifts. Apart from that, the company will also conduct consumer interactive contests.
