Five-star carnage takes worst toll on India Inc

The Mumbai mayhem has taken perhaps the worst toll on India Inc. While the of casualty list is still incomplete, the figures released so far have some of the well-known names in the business and social circles in it.

In fact, many of the hostages and victims are actually senior executives of some of India's biggest companies.

Yes Bank co-promoter and its non-executive chairman Ashok Kapur, businessman Sunil Parekh, developer Pankaj Shah and solicitor Anand Bhatt were among those found dead at the Oberoi.

Ashok Kapur and Yes Bank MD Rana Kapoor together hold a 34 per cent stake in the bank.

Ashok Kapur's body was found on the 19th floor of the hotel on Friday evening. He had gone for dinner to the hotel with his wife Madhu, who managed to escape.

Sunil Parekh, a businessman with shipping interests, and his wife Reshma, were also among those killed at Tiffin, the coffee shop at The Oberoi.
