Blue Star Infotech to focus on SMB to double revenue

Mumbai: In an attempt to double its revenues from India, software major Blue Star Infotech is planning to focus on the Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) in India, which help it de-risk its operations from the over-dependence of US markets.

The company expects the focus on SMB segment to help it double its revenues to Rs 10 crore in fiscal 2005, from the Rs 5.08-crore posted during the 12-month period of fiscal 2003-04.

Blue Star Infotech would concentrate on SMB segment with distribution and implementation of the company''s existing products, according to its vice-president (marketing) Sudhir Gera.

Gera also added that the software major would also rollout its enhanced product portfolio in the domestic market, which would be also line in with its plans of focusing on the SMB segment in India.

"We were dependent on US markets, and these initiatives are an attempt to de-risk ourselves from this market," he added.

The enhanced portfolio comprises Business Intelligence (BI), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions and Intranet and Extranet products and services.
