Auto industry to access global standard AVL tests in India

The centre is set up for the development, improvement and testing of engines and vehicles. It will allow AVL to conduct a full range of power-train design, development and validation programmes and work with local and international component and system suppliers. The centre will also provide a full range of training, application and other onsite support activities.

The centre will facilitate the liason between Indian customers and AVL. It will work in close cooperation with OEM's and suppliers, with a view to gain a better understanding of project parameters. It will also shorten project execution time and thus achieve faster results with an optimum utilisation of resources.

The full advantage of having a world-class automotive solutions provider at the doorstep of OEM's importer and the automotive supplier base in India will also be realised. This world-class AVL engineering and technology centre is meant to cater to the design, analysis and development requirements of the Indian automotive and power-train engineering industry.

Expressing her views at the inauguration, Dikshit said: “This technical centre is a boon for the automobile industry as it will facilitate designing, developing and testing of products. We hope that through this centre AVL is now more accessible to the Indian clientele.“

The AVL technical centre in India is linked to the global AVL network of information using a secure Internet system. Fast connections to the outside world will allow data to be readily exchanged with client companies and all their operations across the globe. The centre is located in the industrial district of Gurgaon, near Delhi. The centre in India showcases the process and technologies, which allow power-train-engineering programmes to be conducted with great efficiency and accuracy.
