Asian Paints subsidiary to offer consultancy to Pakistan's second largest paint company

Mumbai: Berger International Limited (BIL) the Singapore- based subsidiary of Asian Paints, Asia's fourth largest paint company, has entered into a technical consultancy and advice arrangement with Berger Paints Pakistan Limited, the second largest paint company in Pakistan. This arrangement also puts at disposal of Berger Paints Pakistan Limited through Berger International Limited, the technical expertise and technology of Asian Paints' group companies.

Asian Paints has further strengthened its presence in the SAARC region through its entry into Pakistan through this arrangement with Berger Paints Pakistan Limited with its Singapore-based subsidiary, Berger International Limited. Asian Paints is already present in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh in this region. It has manufacturing facilities in all these countries. It is the largest Paint Company in India and Nepal and the second largest in Sri Lanka.

Berger International Limited (BIL) has no operations in India and it does not own the Berger brand in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and few other countries, though it owns it in over 70 countries across the world. Berger Paints Pakistan Limited is independently owned.

Scope of the arrangement:

  1. The arrangement will initially be for architectural range of products with opportunities to expand to other product ranges based on mutual interest and agreement.
  2. Berger International Limited, Singapore will be available as a technical consultant to Berger Paints Pakistan Limited and will provide offsite technical advice. This advice will be based on queries provided for design improvements, formulation changes, raw material substitution, customer problem solving ,etc.
  3. The arrangement also facilitates onsite technical advice that will be made available by visit of technical personnel from Berger International Limited to Berger Paints Pakistan Limited to conduct technical discussions, work jointly on technical developments and also conduct technical audits.
  4. The arrangement also facilitates Berger Paints Pakistan Limited being able to source specific product technologies from Berger International Limited or other Asian Paints group companies.
  5. The arrangement also envisages technical development work for new technologies and formulations to be undertaken for Berger Paints Pakistan Limited based on request made by them to Berger International limited
  6. A huge range of products which are available with Asian Paints group companies can also be imported by Berger Paints Pakistan Limited through specified agreements
