APW President bags export excellence award from MAIT

The award was presented on behalf of MAIT by Indian Minister of Law, Justice and Commerce and Industry Arun Jaitley to APW President Systems joint managing director Sudhir Seth.

"MAIT's recognition of our export achievement gives us an incentive to do even better in future," says Seth. "As leaders in enclosure systems, we have set the benchmark for the industry in following global standards. All our products are compliant with international standards for quality assurance, product integration, safety, environmental protection, and manufacturing procedures."

MAIT handed out the coveted awards at its annual day function in May 2003 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. On this occasion, MAIT also recognised manufacturers of IT products that had made significant contribution to exports from India.

"MAIT's award is a great honour for us. In the export market, we have been consistently active for over 20 years, and in the process managed to overcome global competition, where we have matched the most stringent standards, provided better service and more competitive pricing. Our industry-leading products are shipped now to 15 countries, including Australia, the US and Singapore. We have put India on the quality map even in these exacting market places," says EA Elias, managing director, APW President Systems.

The MAIT Award for Excellence in Exports was instituted in 1998 to recognise and honour the excellent contribution of top software services and hardware export companies from India. MAIT's export thrust focuses on developing IT exports from India and attracting foreign investment into the Indian IT industry. The MAIT instituted award aims at recognising and honouring remarkable performances and initiatives in hardware exports.

Set up in 1982 for purposes of scientific, educational and IT industry promotion, MAIT has emerged as an effective, influential and dynamic organisation. Representing hardware, training and the services sectors of the Indian IT industry, MAIT's charter is to develop a global competitive Indian IT industry, promote the usage of IT in India, strengthen the role of IT in national economic development and promote business through international alliances.
