Acer unveils premium notebook

Weighing 2.9 kg, the Windows XP-based Ferrari notebook has an AMD Athlon XP-M 2500+ Processor, 512 MB of DDR SDRAM, 60GB hard drive, DVD writer and a 15" screen backed by a 128 MB ATI Radeon graphics card.

The notebook also provides integrated wireless LAN, Bluetooth support, and 10/100Mbps Ethernet and 56Kbps modem fixed-line connections. Also included are a multi-format four-in-one memory card reader, 4 USB 2.0 ports, a Firewire port and S-video (TV-output) port.

Acer is the official IT products supplier to Ferrari globally and in commemoration of Ferrari's Grand Prix World Championship victory, has launched the Ferrari red special edition notebook bearing the famous prancing pony logo.

The Acer Ferrari 3000 is targeted at a niche market and has connectivity features which are good for high end multimedia applications and graphic performance intensive user environments.

It also offers wireless LAN for Wi-Fi connectivity and integrated Bluetooth for easy connectivity with Bluetooth enabled printers, PDA and mobile phones. The Acer Ferrari 3000 also utilises unique packaging technology that enables high performance in a thin and light form factor.
