New Delhi: On public demand, the Delhi Metro Airport Express has announced it will operate services every 15 minutes through the day from Monday. Officials said a frequency of 15 minutes would be maintained between 5 am-11 pm, which are the service hours of the high-speed corridor.

''This will increase the train operation frequency by 33 per cent and will meet growing demand of local and airport-bound commuters,'' said a Reliance Infrastructure spokesperson, from the consortium that operates the line.

The decision to increase frequency was taken following findings of an internal survey called ''Voice of Commuters''.

Trains on the high-speed metro corridor that connects Connaught Place (CP) with the IGI Airport in 18 minutes, earlier ran at a frequency of 15 minutes from 7 am to 11 am and 20 minutes thereafter.
