10 February 2009

Bengaluru, 10 February 2009: Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI's) ELTA Systems Group (IAI/ELTA) got $300 million in contracts for air defence radar systems in 2008 from customers worldwide, a company spokesman said here today.

IAI/ELTA's long range and medium range radar systems are advanced Active Electronic Steering Array (AESA phased array) radars, capable of detecting low radar cross section (RCS) targets from long ranges, even in the presence of heavy ground clutter and electromagnetic interference.

Their high accuracies allow them to provide target data to Surface-to-Air (S/A) weapon systems. Their features include high mobility, fast and easy deployment, high availability and reliability.
