A German Air Force delegation has safely landed at the Air Force Station of Yelahanka near Bangalore, after a stop-over at Abu Dhabi Air Force Base, United Arab Emirates. Three Eurofighters, Germany's most advanced fighter aircraft, along with an Airbus A310 MRTT (multi-role transport tanker) completed their first deployment to an Asian country, to participate in the bi-annual air show. After starting from their home base in Germany on 4 February, all the fighters were refuelled mid-air by the A310 MRTT. This was the first time the tanker conducted air-to-air refuelling during an operational deployment, marking another important milestone in its introduction phase. The German Air Force is participating in Aero India 2009, which is on in Bangalore from 11-15 February. The Eurofighters (30+23, 30+25, 30+38), will provide a daily flying display, along with the Airbus A310 MRTT (10+27). The planes will return to their home bases on 16 February.
