Olympic and World champion shooter Abhinav Bindra will fly in an F-16IN at the Bangalore air show on February 12. Bindra will join prominent personalities like Ratan
Tata, former president A P J Abdul Kalam, and former Defence Minister George Fernandes in this privileged exercise.
"I was instantly excited when the offer to fly on an F-16IN came. I have heard about the adrenalin rush when the aircraft sorties in the air, and I am looking forward to experience it. I guess it will be an encore of what I felt when I hit the target at the Olympics. I thank Lockheed Martin for giving me this honour," said Bindra, in a statement.
Bindra will be flown by an experienced test pilot with Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of the fighter jet, and the flight will last about 45 minutes. He will undergo a medical fitness test before take-off and will also get a briefing before going on the sortie.
