Sukhoi eyes Indian market for Superjet 100

Sukhoi, the holding company of Russian defence aircraft maker today showcased the Sukhoi Superjet 100 developed by its civil aviation arm Sukhoi Civil Aircraft.
A joint venture of Sukhoi and Alenia Aeronautica Company, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft commercially rolled out the Sukhoi Superjet 100 last year.
With supply contracts with Russia's state-owned Aeroflot and Pearl Aviation of the US, the company now has an order book of 170 planes.
Sukhoi Civil Aircrat also signed up in India for new orders, including with Aviotech Pvt Ltd of Hyderabad, Vladimir Prisyazhnyuk, president of Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, said.
Aeroflot and Pearl Aviation are amongst those who have placed 30 orders each thus far, he said.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 has been developed with suppies from over 65 global partners and technical support from Boeing.
''The leading-edge technologies, incorporated in the Sukhoi Superjet 100 project makes it a modern, economically efficient and globally marketable aircraft'', Sukhoi said in a website release.
