FAA clears Boeing's 787 Dreamliner for passenger service

The US Federal Aviation Administration has certified the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner for commercial service. The futuristic aircraft may now commence commercial service with launch customer All Nippon Airways (ANA) next month, with regular services commencing 1 November.

The 787 Dreamliner is the first airliner to be built primarily out of carbon-fibre plastic composites.

After protracted delays the aircraft will finally be delivered to launch customer ANA next month.

Boeing has 55 customers for this futuristic model with confirmed orders for more than 800 planes.
