Grob Aircraft sells 20 G115 aircraft in a €10 million deal

Mattsies: Grob Aircraft AG has announced the successful closing of a fleet sale in excess of 20 G115 Aircraft to UK training organization VT Aerospace. The lifetime contract value of the sale will be in excess of €10 million.
Grob also announced that aircraft deliveries would commence towards the end of 2009, with all aircraft being delivered within a 4 month period.
VT aerospace has been operating a fleet of 97 Grob Aircraft for the last decade.
The G115 also serves as a training platform for the UK defence forces.
The aircraft is constructed of advanced composite materials the main fuselage and each wing is a single piece. It has a fixed Tricycle undercarriage with spatted wheels, a short nose bearing the 180 hp engine and a 3-bladed variable-pitch propeller. The cockpit features a broad canopy and all round vision, with side-by-side seating for pilot and student. The wings are tapered with square tips and the empennage consists of a large fin and rudder with an oblong tailplane with square tips mid-set to the fuselage.
The aircraft is fully aerobatic (to +6G and -3G)
Grob was bought by H3 Aerospace, a Munich based Aerospace development and investment firm, in the beginning of 2009.
