EMC appoints Niranjan Thirumale as chief technology officer in India

Network storage and other infrastructure solutions provider, EMC Corporation, today announced that it has appointed Niranjan Thirumale as chief technology officer of its center of excellence in India.
Thirumale will also join the EMC's CTO council.
He will work closely with Sarv Saravanan, vice president and managing director, EMC India, and other local business unit leaders to further develop the innovative culture within the center, the company said in a statement.
Prior to joining EMC, Thirumale had worked at NetApp where he was the founding member and technical leader of its advanced technology group in India and was responsible for driving innovation and long-term vision.
He has worked at IBM for over eight years in the US.
Engineer in computer science from IIT, Chennai, he holds an MS degree and PhD (in file systems) from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
