Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has emerged the top school to have received the highest number of campus placements and the highest ever compensation package for campus placements during the course of an academic year.
With up to 1,199 job opportunities, almost 80 per cent of students who took advantage of Campus Placements in 2021-22 received campus placements in this year.
The job offers received by the premier institution included 45 international jobs from 14 companies, including Glean, Micron Technologies, Honda R&D, Cohesity, Da Vinci Derivatives, Accenture Japan, Hilabs Inc, Quantbox Research, MediaTek, Money Forward, Rubrik, Termgrid and Uber.
In the first and second phase of campus placement, more than 199 offers were received, including 131 from startups.
In addition, all 61 MBA students from the Department of Management Studies also were offered 100 per cent acceptance.
For the campus placements of 2021-22, the mean pay for students was Rs21.48 lakh per annum. While the top salary that was offered was $250,000.
During the course of the placements, approximately 350 companies offered jobs to students.
In addition, 231 pre-placement invitations were obtained from summer internships.
Professor C S Shankar Ram the advisor stepping down (Placement), IIT Madras stated that the placements are evidence of the quantifiable results of the added value to students studying at the academic institutions.
“We are extremely pleased that our students performed extremely good in the 2021-22 semester, which has led to record-high number of job offers,” he added.
He further stated the following “On behalf of IIT Madras, I thank our recruiters for a successful season. I hope they continue to work with us on recruitment and other opportunities. I am grateful to our institute’s staff and the administration for their constant commitment and support.”
