Samtel to shut Pondicherry unit that makes computer monitors

New Delhi: The Samtel group has taken the decision to close down the Pondicherry unit of the multimedia division of the company, which has been manufacturing and marketing computer monitors.

It has also announced its decision to dispose of certain idle assets of the company, which have been retired from active use subject to the approval of the shareholders through a postal ballot.

The company had taken the decision earlier to focus only on its core areas.
