Flipkart India’s top talent attractor, Amazon second
22 Jun 2016
E-commerce firm Flipkart has been ranked as the best company in India for "attracting and keeping top talent", according to a LinkedIn study, with rival Amazon in second place.
Other internet companies that made it to LinkedIn's 'Top Attractors' list of 25 companies are Housing.com (9th), Ola (10th), Snapdeal (11th), OYO Hospitality (16th), MakeMyTrip (22nd) and Zomato (25th).
Not surprisingly, technology and consulting firms dominated the list. Capgemini (3), Google (4), KPMG (5), Deloitte (6), Adobe (7), HCL Tech (8), Microsoft (12), Wipro (14), Accenture (17), Cognizant (20), ZS Associates (21) and Cisco (24) were some of the companies that made it to the list.
The non-tech companies ranked in the top 25 include Tata Communications (13), Mercedes-Benz R&D (15), Bajaj Finserv (18), Honeywell (19) and Reliance Industries (23).
LinkedIn's "top attractors" list is entirely based on actions of its users in the 12 months ended in February. The professional networking site, which has signed an agreement to be acquired by Microsoft, has over 430 million users. LinkedIn analysed the data of its users' actions to come up with a blended score to rank winners in each geography.
The number of views and applications per job posting on LinkedIn, the number of views of a company's career page and employee retention statistics as measured through profile updates were some of the metrics LinkedIn used to rank the companies.
Companies with less than 500 employees were not considered for the LinkedIn study.
LinkedIn said that companies with simpler organisational structures, workplace flexibility like work from home and perks that go way beyond usual benefit plans were some of the top factors that helped companies get a place in the list.
