Twitter hires Google’s Bruce Daisley as UK sales director

Bruce DaisleyTwitter has hired Google's Bruce Daisley, who was director of YouTube display advertising, as its first UK sales director.

Daisley had been responsible for the internet giant's  display advertising business in the UK for more than three years and joins Twitter as it steps up its European operation in London and Dublin.

In his new assignment, Daisley would be responsible for increasing the number of UK brands that use Twitter for advertising and explore additional revenue streams for the site.
 
Tony Wang, Twitter's head of European operations,  tweeted the appointment announcement yesterday morning.

The social network company based in San Francisco would also be hiring a business development and a sales marketing manager based in London.

Daisley had earlier worked with Emap before joining Google in September 2008.

He was digital sales director at the publisher of Retail Week and Broadcast. Daisley will take up the new assignment in the new year.
