Ashok Kumar today took over as the secretary in the newly created department of pharmaceuticals under the ministry of chemicals and fertilisers.

Kumar is a 1974 batch Indian Administrative officer of the Bihar cadre.

He was the chairman of the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority before taking over his new assignment.
