Mphasis-BFL CEO Jerry Rao, who led the successful merger of Mphasis with US-based Electronic Data Systerms Corporation (EDS) in June 2006, (See: EDS completes Mphasis acquisition) has been awarded the ''distinguished entrepreneurial alumni award'' by the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (Chicago GSB).

Edward A. Snyder, dean, Chicago GSB, presented the award to Rao, on 6 October, 2006during the annual Alimni weekend attended by other distinguished corporate, academic and other alumni of GSB from around the world.

These awards presented by Chicago GSB seek to recognize outstanding professional achievement among its alumni who, in the opinion of the selection committee, have demonstrated admirable professionalism.

The Entrepreneurial Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated professional achievement of the highest caliber in the management of an entrepreneurial enterprise.
