Pune: Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) is participating in a health expo exclusively focused on alternative medicine therapies. It will be held from 2 to 5 January 2003 at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch, Pune.

Displaying the immense potential of alternative medicine is ICR, a semi-charitable organisation established with the core objective of promoting positive health through homeopathic healing to the masses. Making this mega event worth remembering, ICR is all set to educate people about the immense potential of homeopathy.

Senior homeopathic consultants from ICR will conduct free health advisory sessions for the visitors between 6 pm to 8 pm from 2 to 5 January. The highlight of the ICR pavilion is a street play depicting the human friendly face of homeopathy.

Organised in public interest on 5 January, this street play promises to clear the misconceptions about homeopathy and educate the visitors about the effective management of acute conditions through homeopathy. The street play will also emphasise on the effective role of homeopathy in treating patients during hospitalisation. This aims to clear the misconception that the field is limited only to the consulting rooms.

A user-friendly homeopathic software called Organon96, designed by ICR, will be displayed at the pavilion. This software aids homeopathic practitioners to approach a case study in a systematic manner. ICR has the credit of launching the first-of-its-kind distance education through the Internet using Organon96.

Says ICR Pune director Dr S K Phanslakar: “The objective behind ICR’s participation in Ayurveda Homoeo 2003 is to educate the common man about the effective role of homeopathy. We also aspire to send across a message to the common man that homeopathy is not an alternative medicine but is evolving into a preferred healthcare system.

“Secondly, awareness of homeopathy was limited to the elite class. ICR aspires to break these conventional beliefs through its chain of semi-charitable clinics in and around Pune and a homeopathic-speciality hospital at Kharalwadi, Pimpri. We are here to make homeopathy available to the common man and the benefits of this wonderful human-friendly medication in a cost-effective manner.”

A special series of interactive lectures have also been organised at the health expo every evening. ICR Pune assistant director Dr Rajesh Bhogale will be conducting one such session with homeopathy as the core topic.

ICR was established in 1975 by the late Dr M L Dhawale, a homeopathic clinician of international repute. The need of evolving a scientific and accurate system of homeopathic practice, education and research resulted in the genesis of ICR. Over the past 25 years, this system has been perfected and streamlined so that ICR is able to help learners become competent homeopathic clinicians and to develop a life-long commitment and sincere dedication to the profession.

ICR Pune was established in 1979 to extend the commitment to excellence in homeopathy through service areas like semi-charitable clinical services, post-graduate homeopathic education and research.

To extend its clinical services to the masses ICR operates through chain of 4 semi-charitable clinics and a homeopathic speciality centre and nursing home. The organisation has a team of 40 homeopaths who are committed to the cause of promoting positive health through homeopathic healing in a cost-effective manner.
