T.L. Sankar to head coal sector panel
Hyderabad: MR T.L. Sankar, Senior Advisor (Energy Group) and former Principal of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), here has been appointed as Chairman of the 7-member, Expert Committee constituted by the Centre for the coal sector.

The Committee will undertake a comprehensive review and recommend a roadmap for the sector. The other members are Dr J.J. Irani, P.K. Sengupta, P.V. Sridharan, S.K. Mahajan, S.P. Sethi and Pradeep Kumar.

According to a press release from the ASCI, the Committee would look into measures for meeting the demand-supply gap in coal in the short-, medium- and long-term, ways to improve productivity etc. It would also examine major recommendations made by KPMG Consulting.

Baskaran takes over as Business Development chief for Iomega India
New Delhi: Data storage company Iomega Corporation has announced the appointment of D.R. Baskaran as its Business Development Manager for India and West Asia within the company's Asia Pacific operations.

Based in Chennai, Baskaran will report to Haja Sheriff, Regional Manager of South Asia, West Asia and India at Iomega Pacific, Singapore.

HDFC Company Secretary
Mumbai: The Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd has appointed a new company secretary following the appointment of its existing company secretary as the Chief Executive Officer of Intelenet Global Services Ltd, HDFC's 50 per cent subsidiary.

Girish V. Koliyote has been appointed as the company secretary with immediate effect, while Susir Kumar M. who has been appointed CEO of Intelenet has resigned as HDFC's company secretary, said a notice to the stock exchanges.
