Baweja takes over as Chairman, HAL
Bangalore: Ashok K.Baweja takes over as the new Chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd on Wednesday (December 1). He succeeds N.R.Mohanty, who was superannuated after heading the company since September 2001.

Baweja joined the defence PSU as a management trainee in 1972.

As Director - Design & Development prior to his new appointment, he has stewarded some of HAL's major projects in recent years, including the indigenous advanced light helicopter (ALH) - which has been inducted into the armed forces - and the fast-track development of intermediate jet trainer (IJT). Baweja has also initiated programmes for the light combat helicopter and the upgrading of the Jaguar Navwass, Lancer, Cheetah and MI-17, according to an official release here.

New CEO for Airtravel
Thiruvananthapuram: Airtravel Enterprises India Ltd has announced the appointment of A.G.K. Kumar as the company's Chief Operating Officer.

Kumar will be based in Thiruvananthapuram and will be responsible for the company's domestic and international operations, said a company press release.

In over 25 years in the travel and tourism industry, Kumar has worked with companies such as Travel Corporation of India, East West Airlines and Thomas Cook India Ltd, the release adds.

Intelligroup CEO Valluri gets award
Hyderabad: The President and CEO of Intelligroup, Arjun Valluri, has received a Proclamation from the US Congress and the 2004 Ronald Reagan Technology Award for his achievements in the information technology industry.

The Proclamation from the US Congress is presented annually to leading industrialists who have made significant contributions in business and to their community. Both the Proclamation and the award were presented to Valluri at a function hosted by the World Business Forum Inc.

BPL Mobile makes top-level changes
Coimbatore: BPL Mobile has announced top-level changes to head its operations in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

While K.A. Mohd Saleem takes over on December 1 as Chief Operating Officer (COO)- South, in the Kerala and Tamil Nadu circles, the company has appointed G. Sambasivan as the COO - Kerala and R. Suresh Kumar as COO - Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

A.J. Ishwar Kumar, will be VP-Strategic Initiatives.
