TVS Motor launches variant of the Victor
Chennai: TVS Motor Company has launched the Victor 125 GLX, a 125-cc variant of the Victor motorcycle, fitted with the VT-i engine. The engine, patented by the company, was first introduced in the Centra motorcycles.
The Victor 125 GLX is priced at around Rs 45,000, ex-showroom, Chennai. The company says that it intends to give a significant thrust to ads and promotion, saying that the launch of the Centra vehicles was not backed by enough promotional push.

Hutch to install Teradata solution
Mumbai: Hutchison is getting an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) solution implemented for its cellular operations in India by Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation. This solution will integrate information from 10 telecom circles of Hutchison's 12 in the country and augment Hutchison's overall strategy and provide the telecom major with business intelligence for management and operational decision-making, said the release.

Goldstone Tech expects revenue growth of 25 per cent
Hyderabad: Goldstone Technologies Ltd, a software solutions company will establish a technology campus near Hyderabad, induct about 250 people this financial year and consolidate in services and business process outsourcing (BPO) space.

Goldstone has recorded total income of Rs 57.31 crore and a net profit of Rs 4.13 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2004 as against total income of Rs 48.89 crore and a net profit of Rs 50 lakh for the previous financial year. With the addition of six new clients during the last quarter and 17 overall during the year 2004, the company expects to grow its revenues by about 25 per cent this year.

Rolta PAT shows growth of 23 per cent
New Delhi: Rolta India Ltd has announced that its net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2004 stands at Rs 21.19 crore, compared to Rs 15.48 crore last year. The net profit after tax for the period of nine months stood at Rs 63.69 crore against Rs 51.51 crore for the corresponding period last year, reflecting a growth of 23 per cent.

Mudra Ahmedabad bags three accounts
Ahmedabad: Mudra Ahmedabad has won three Gujarat-based accounts seeking strategic brand building and communication inputs. The accounts are Ahmedabad-based Astral Polytechnik Pvt. Ltd, which makes chlorinated poly vinyl chloride (CPVC) pipes and fittings for plumbing systems, McFills Enterprise Pvt. Ltd, savoury/sweet snack food products company, and Morbi-based Ajanta Transistor Clock Mfg Company, the world's largest clock manufacturer with a product portfolio of calculators, educational toys, the Orpat brand of telephones and a range of home appliances. These new accounts have been won in a multi-agency pitch where a number of top agencies were in the fray for the business. The combined annualised billing will be about Rs 10 crore.

Shoppers Stop and designer Rathore in pioneering initiative
Mumbai: Shoppers' Stop and Raghavendra Rathore have announced the launch of a new co-branded range of merchandise at the Lakme India Fashion Week 2004. According to a press release, for the first time the designs of one of India's leading designers will be manufactured by a retailer. The brand will be owned 50:50 by both partners. The clothes will be priced between Rs 500 and Rs 1,500. The line will be retailed exclusively at all Shoppers' Stop across the country.

Kochi Refineries declares record dividend
Kochi: Kochi Refineries Limited (KRL), a subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), has announced a dividend of 120 percent for FY-04, up from 100 per cent in 2002-03, which is a record.

The company has registered a net profit after tax of Rs 555 crore during 2003-04, an increase of 21 per cent against the previous year's profit of Rs 456 crore. KRL achieved a turnover of Rs 9863 crore during this fiscal against the previous year's Rs 9267.6 crore.
