WTO releases first draft of report on global health
New Delhi: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has released the first draft on `Global strategy on diet, physical activity and health', which provides the principles and the path to be followed by various countries for developing public health, diet and physical activity policies. The member nations will take up the proposed recommendations at their meeting in May.

The draft includes the challenges in areas of national food and agriculture policies, including pricing, food programmes and push-and-pull mechanism as well as ways of building up prevention mechanism in a country's public health services system.The whole exercise was undertaken by the WTO following requests from member States and the final report will help the countries to formulate their own country-specific strategies based on inputs from various nations where similar situations had existed in the past.

Polls '04: Congress releases 5th List - Jogi in, Shivshankar out
New Delhi:
The Congress party has released its fifth list of 61 candidates for the coming Lok Sabha polls.Former Chattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ujwala S Shinde and nephew of Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat are some of the candidates cleared by the Congress.

CWC members Mahavir Prasad and Meira Kumar and Rajasthan PCC Chief Narain Singh are included in the list. While Jogi will take on former Union Minister and BJP candidate Vidya Charan Shukla from Mahsamund in Chattisgarh, Shinde's wife will contest from Sholapur.Satish Sharma, will seek election from Sultanpur, adjoining Rae Bareilly. The late Phoolan Devi's husband Umed Singh Kashyap also figures on the Congress list.
