Mumbai: The Securities and Exchange Board of India has launched a probe into the personal investments of erstwhile fund manager of Alliance Capital Mutual Fund Samir C Arora. The probe is to find out whether any personal gains have been made by Mr Arora on the basis of information he possessed as the fund manager.

SEBI panel moots whistle-blower policy
Mumbai: In a bid to stop unethical practices by corporates and prevent frauds, the Securities and Exchange Board of India's committee on corporate governance has suggested "whistle-blower policy" where an official of a company who observes an unethical or improper practice can approach the audit committee of the company without necessarily informing his supervisors.

Compliance officers must for AMCs
Mumbai: SEBI has ordered that prior approval of the trustees or the trust company, every Asset Management Company should appoint a compliance officer, who should be the "first-level verifying officer" and should assist the trustees in discharging their obligations within the regulatory framework.

SEBI suspends CSE member
Kolkata: SEBI has suspended the registration of Mr Shyam Sunder Dalmia, a member of the Calcutta Stock Exchange, who has allegedly dealt with unregistered sub-brokers and entered into transactions with other members of the bourse and settled trades outside the exchange mechanism.
