UTI investor services to issue PAN cards
New Delhi: Unit Trust of India Investor Services Ltd (UTI-ISL) will issue permanent account number (PAN) cards to taxpayers. The new PAN card, which resembles a credit card, will cost Rs 65 — Rs 60 towards the card and Rs 5 for the application form.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) chairman PL Singh said PAN cards will be issued by UTI-ISL within 15 days of the application from over 500 centres across the country. UTI-ISL will start issuing these cards from Tuesday. He clarified that existing 2.86 crore PAN cards would continue to be valid and it would be optional for those assesses to obtain the new plastic cards.
