FM promises to make good revenue loss due to VAT

Quantitative restrictions on garlic imports lifted
New Delhi: The government has decided to remove quantitative restrictions on imports of garlic with immediate effect and a notification in this regard has been issued by the director general of foreign trade, says an official release.

Sensitive import items register 12 per cent growth in April-Nov 2002
New Delhi: Total imports of 300 sensitive tariff lines (items) on which quantitative restrictions have been lifted by the government, posted a 12 per cent growth during April-November 2002 over the same period of 2001.
