Infosys says its value is up over Rs 1,880 crore
Bangalore:
Infosys Technologies says the value of its corporate brand Infosys has gone up by more than Rs 1,880 crore in a year.
The Nasdaq-listed company says while it had a market capitalisation of Rs 24,654 crore as on 31 March 2002, the value of the Infosys brand alone was estimated at Rs 7,256.80 crore.

BSE imposes special margin on Wimco
Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange has informed its members that a special margin of 25 per cent has been imposed on Wimco Ltd with effect from 23 May 2002.

The special margin will be imposed on the basis of a member-wise gross purchase or sale position (client-wise net).

BPL gives roaming option for prepaid clients
Mumbai:
BPL Mobile is launching a new service Follow Me that allows all prepaid users partial roaming facilities. Now, the users can send and receive SMS messages anywhere in India.

The Follow Me service is targeted at the casual roamer a subscriber who needs roaming only on rare occasions when s/he may be travelling and wants to be available on phone. Unlike a business traveller, who needs to be connected all the time and needs to make and receive calls, casual roamers do not need to call too often, but may need to be available on phone.

Sebi raps Balaji Telefilm lead managers
Mumbai:
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has issued warning against three merchant bankers for violation of due diligence obligation in the case of Balaji Telefilms Ltds (BTL) IPO.

The three lead mangers are JM Morgan Stanley, IL&FS Merchant Banking Services and Triumph International Finance. Sebi says the lead managers to BTLs IPO in October 2000 had violated clause 2 of the code of conduct laid down in schedule III of the Sebi (Merchant Bankers) Regulations, 1992.

IBP has posted a net profit of Rs 195.79 crore for the year ended 31 March 2002 as compared to Rs 54.22 crore in the year ended 31 March 2001.
