Ratan Tata may continue at helm as non-exec chairman
Mumbai: For some years now, 28 December 2002, has been a date which many senior executives in Corporate India, particularly the more ambitious among them, have pencilled into their calendar. Thats when Ratan Tata turns 65, and, according to a policy framed by Tata himself, he is supposed to retire as chairman of the group.

For many years, there has been intense speculation in the media and in boardrooms as to who might succeed Tata. But CEOs dreaming of stepping into Tatas shoes may have to wait a while. The most eagerly awaited succession in Corporate India may turn out to be one big non-event as Tata is expected to continue at the helm as non-exececutive chairman.
