Nestle board gets new chairman
New Delhi:
Mr. Carlo Donati, managing director of Nestle India Limited, will take over as the new chairman of the board of directors of the company. He will replace Mr. Narendra Singh Sarila, who has stepped down from the post, but who will continue as a director on the board as chairman emeritus. This change has been made in line with the company's policy on retirement.

The company also announced that Mr. J.M. Waelti, currently Executive Vice-President (Finance and Control) of Nestle India, shall become a member of the board of directors from July 1, in place of Mr. J.D. Luethi. Mr. Waelti would continue with his current functional responsibilities after he assumes office as director and would be designated as Director-Finance and Control.

Five top Sebi members get extension
Mumbai:
Five top revenue department officials who are currently on deputation to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) have been given extensions ranging from one to two years.

These include, Mr. L. K. Singhvi, senior executive director in charge of surveillance and investigations, Mr. Ashok Kacker, executive director in charge of mutual funds, Ms. Anita Kapur, regional head at the New Delhi office, Mr. Salil Gupta, division chief of the New Delhi office and Mr. R.K. Kakkar, the ace investigator at the agency who is division head at the Mumbai office.

These extensions, which have been backed by the Sebi chairman, have been made in the interest of continuity and consistency in decision making.
