Honours for Tata, Narayana Murthy
New Delhi Tata group chairman, Ratan Tata, has been honoured with Padma
Bhushan by the government on the occasion of the 51st Republic Day. Infosys
Technologies chairman, N.R. Narayana Murthy, and information technology expert, Dr Vijay
Bhatkar, have been awarded Padma Shri.

Kishen Behari Lall are recipients of Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award.

Premji may be among the
richest 10
Mumbai: Azim Premji could be among the top 10 richest businessmen in the
world now with his wealth currently estimated at Rs 60,000 crore or $14 billion.
Wipros market capitalisation crossed the Rs 80,000 crore mark on 25 January, and
since nearly 75 per cent of the companys stocks are held by Mr Premji and his
trusts, his personal wealth will be worth Rs 60,000 crore.
The market cap of Wipro has soared by 28 per cent in one
week and at close of trading on 25 January it stood at Rs 80,692 crore.

World Bank appoints
Kassum as Asia chief
Washington: The World Bank has nominated Jemal-ud-din Kassum,
vice-president for investment operations at the International Finance Corporation, as its
new vice-president for Asia and the Pacific from 1 March. Mr Kassum is considered as one
of the senior experts involved in loans to the private sector. A Tanzanian educated in
Britain and the US, he replaces Frenchman Jean Michel Severino, who is returning to the
French finance ministry.
