Top Novartis posting for Dilip Gokhale
Mumbai: Dilip Gokhale, at present head of the seeds business in India and business head for rice, cotton and cereals in the Asia-Pacific region of Novartis, has been appointed global head for rice, cotton and cereals seeds business of the life sciences major. He will be a member of the global seeds management committee of the company.

An alumnus of the IIM, Ahmedabad, Mr Gokhale has been with Novartis for the last 20 years. He will be based at Novartis’ headquarters in Basle in Switzerland.

Sakakibara candidate for IMF chief’s post
Tokyo: Eisuke Sakakibara may be Japan’s candidate for the next chief of International Monetary Fund. Mr Sakakibara is former vice finance minister of Japan and prime minister Keizo Obuchi has sponsored his candidature and sought support from friendly countries.

Mr Sakakibara is known as "Mr Yen" for his ability to influence foreign exchange markets when he was the vice finance minister.
