G.P. Goenka is Ficci chairman
New Delhi: Gouri Prasad Goenka, chairman of the Duncan Goenka group, has taken over as president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He replaces Sudhir Jalan, chairman of Bells Controls, whose term has ended.

A.C. Muthiah of the Spic group is the new senior vice-president of Ficci, and Chirayu R. Amin of Alembic vice-president.

Indo-German Chamber officials
Mumbai: Udo-E Land, managing director of Flender, is the new president of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce for 1999-2000. Suraj L. Mehta, general manager and chief executive officer of Dresdner Bank, is vice-president and Wolf D von Bothmer, head (corporate banking –India) of Deutsche Bank, honorary treasurer.

Sony Pictures’ COO quitting
California: Sony Pictures Entertainment said its chief operating officer Bob Wynne is quitting by year-end. Mr Wynne has been with Sony for nearly four years during which he helped make the lacklustre operations of the company more profitable. He will continue with Sony on a consulting basis.
