Brown tipped for IMF job
London: Britain's finance minister Gordon Brown is reportedly tipped to
become head of the International Monetary Fund. The
Observer said he may quit if the job comes up soon. "Reaction has been sought
from European finance ministries in the past month," the paper said. However, a
spokesperson for Mr Brown called the report "nonsense". Mr Brown was appointed
chairman of the policy-making IMF interim committee in September.
