Indian in senior
post at Bradley
New York:
Dileep Bhagwat, an Indian-American pharmacist from Mumbai,
has been named vice president and chief scientific officer
of US pharmaceutical company Bradley Pharmaceuticals of
New Jersey. Dr Bhagwat will head the companys product
development and operations department. Bradley Pharmaceuticals
is a Nasdaq-listed company.
Dr. Bhagwat will play a
major role in developing clinical studies designed to
alert the healthcare community about how each Bradley
product compares with its competitors, said Daniel Glassman,
president and chief executive officer of the company.
Before joining Bradley,
Dr Bhagwat was vice president, scientific development
and regulatory affairs, with Penwest Pharmaceuticals and
assistant director at Purdue Frederick Research Centre,
New York.
Apart from a bachelor's
degree in pharmacy from Mumbai, Dr Bhagwat holds a master's
and doctorate degrees in industrial pharmacy from St.
Johns University, New York, and an MBA in international
business from Pace University in New York. He also holds
several US and international patents.
