M.A.M. Muthiah
is MD of Chettinad Cement
Chennai: M.A.M. Muthiah will take over
as the new managing director of Chettinad Cement Corporation.
Mr Muthiah is the adopted son of the company's promoter
and chairman and managing director, M.A.M. Ramaswamy.
Mr Ramaswamy's term of office
as managing director will end on 27 September, and the
board of the company has appointed Mr Muthiah to the post
for a period of five years.

Shiavax
Vakil passes away
Mumbai: Shiavax R. Vakil, a former director
of Tata Sons, passed away in Mumbai on 8 September.
Mr Vakil was a solicitor
and legal advisor for Tata companies for about 26 years
apart from being a director of Tata Sons. He retired from
the Tata board in July 1999.
