Piyush Mankad is finance secretary
New Delhi: Piyush Mankad, at present information and broadcasting secretary, has been appointed finance secretary. The vacancy had been created as a result of the appointment of  Vijay Kelkar, erstwhile finance secretary, as executive director of the International Monetary Fund. Mr Mankad will also look after the revenue department.

The government also appointed Javed Chaudhury, the current revenue secretary as the health secretary.

Other changes include appointment of S.C. Tripathi as the new banking secretary in place of C.M. Vasudev who has been shifted to the expenditure department. Current expenditure secretary E.A.S. Sarma will be the new economic affairs secretary.

Dilip Modi chairman of Modi Telstra
New Delhi: Dilip Modi has been nominated chairman of Modi Telstra. B.K. Modi, chairman of the company has resigned to pave way for his son.

Dilip Modi has been spearheading the cellular business of ModiCorp. He is also associated at the board level with Spice Telecom, the group's cellular venture in Karnataka.
