Jayaraman
gets senior post in Colgate
Mumbai: Jay Jayaraman, managing director of
Colgate Palmolive India Ltd, has been promoted as vice president of Colgate's Global
Business Development Group in New York. He is expected to take charge on 1 January 2000.
Derrick Samuel, currently vice president and managing
director of Colgate's South Pacific operations, will be the new managing director of
Colgate-Palmolive India. His appointment takes effect from 1 September. He will also hold
charge as vice president and managing director of Colgate South Asia.

Srinivasan is MD of
Centurion Bank
Mumbai: V.S. Srinivasan is the new managing
director of Centurion Bank.
Prior to his appointment, Srinivasan has been vice
chairman of the 20th Century Finance Corporation. He has been actively involved
in the bank ever since its inception and has served on its executive committee.
The bank had taken assets worth Rs 800 crore from the 20th
Century Finance Corporation under an agreement.

Rono Dutta is president of
United Airlines
San Francisco: The world's largest airline,
UAL Corporation and United Airlines, has an India-born as president.
Rono Dutta, an Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur
mechanical engineering graduate, has been selected as president of UAL. Dutta, like
another Indian, Rakesh Gangwal, who has been selected to head US Airways, the sixth
largest airline in the US, hails from Calcutta.
Currently senior vice president of the planning division
of the airline, Dutta will assume charge of the airline on 13 July. He will work under
James Goodwin, who will hold the post of chairman and chief executive officer.
Dutta and Gangwal have worked together at management
consulting firm Booz-Allen & Hamilton in Chicago and also at United Airlines.
