Market update: Sensex down 26 points

Frontline Indian indexes remain weak for the fourth successive session today. Oil & gas and technology stocks remain weak even after the recent correction. Other Asian markets are mixed in early afternoon trading

Sensex opened at 13772 and moved to a low of 13636. The index is trading lower by 26 points at 13740 at 11.10 AM IST.

Nifty opened at 4077 and saw a low of 4039. The index is now trading lower by 7 points at 4070

Oil & gas stocks continue to decline today as well. Gail India is the worst performer among Nifty stocks, down nearly 3.5 per cent. ONGC has lost over 1.5 per cent.

Technology stocks also remain weak. TCS and Infosys have lost over a per cent each and Satyam is down nearly a per cent
