Extreme Networks expands India R&D centrenews

Chennai: Chennai-based Extreme Networks India Private Limited had expanded its research and development (R&D) activity by adding one more centre here. Spread over 10,000 sq.ft, the new centre could house 75 people.

The company does software engineering, quality assurance and network management application development work. The R&D centre will also focus on the design and delivery of enterprise wide systems and solutions to extend and enhance worldwide business operations.

According to Mary Koshy, general manager, the company plans to hire 20 engineers this year to take the total headcount to around 120.

"Good number of engineers from our first centre will move to the new location," said chief information officer and VP marketing Paul Hooper, Extreme Networks Inc. The Indian company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the American company.
