The official website of the president of India www.presidentofindia.nic.in has been getting an average of 95 lakh 'hits' per month this year. According to the president's secretariat the website got the highest number of hits - 1.27 crore - in August 2006 surpassing the previous high of 1.08 crore in January 2006. The highest number of daily hits, 24 lakh, was registered on 12 September 2006 - according to the National Informatics Centre the highest in a day for any government website. According to NIC.
