Infosys to expand education centre in Mysorenews

Mysore-based Infosys has announced its plan to invest Rs 809 crore on its expanding its ongoing global education centre in the next one year. Under this plan the company would set up a new 9,000-seat training facility at Mysore. This would make it possible to train 13,500 individuals in a single sitting. The plan also includes the construction of a hostel, which would house five food courts, an employee care centre and a multimedia centre.

With 6,378 employees, Infosys head office stands over a 335-acre plot. It has three million square feet of built up area, and work is in progress to build another 3.2 million square feet.

Planning commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia inaugurated the company's fourth software development block in Mysore recently, set up at a cost of Rs 85 crore. It can seat 2,500 people.
