14 July 2006
Mumbai: Four Soft Ltd, the world's largest transportation and logistics software product company, is setting up a technology centre in Pune. The technology centre is likely to start functioning from August 1, 2006, a notice issued by the company to the Bombay Stock Exchange said.

The technology centre will function on the company's core products, using leading J2EE methodologies. The company is venturing into a multi-site software development whereby the integration and delivery of products will be done from its Hyderabad centre.

Four Soft plans to hire 200-300 professionals by the end of this year. Recently, the company has added more space to their training centre in Hyderabad.

"Availability of skilled quality resources is one of the major reasons to open a technology centre in a strategic location like Pune. The availability of a good number of educational institutes and a better environment are the other major factors that will serve our growing needs", said Srikanth Palem, CEO and managing director of the company.

"In line with our new product strategy and integration plan of acquired entities we need to expand our team and facility to strengthen our J2EE products. We are also looking at business options to open technology centres in other global locations." added Four Soft COO Kalyan Gangavarapu.
