21 June 2006
Perot Systems Corporation is setting up a fourth facility in India, in Coimbatore. Announcing its expansion plans at a news conference in Chennai, Peter Altabef, president and CEO, Perot Systems, said the opening of the new information technology centre is planned for late summer.

The Plano, Texas-based Perot Systems, a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions, currently operates facilities in Bangalore, Noida and Chennai. The company has been in India for the last 10 years and has continuously been expanding operations.

Perot's Coimbatore centre will handle expanding business from the company's worldwide BPO operations. The new facility, spread over a 20,000sq ft area, will have employee strength of 375 in three shifts, initially. Perot expects the facility to increase employee strength over the years, bringing the company's total employee strength in India to more than 5,000.

Perot is confident of serving its worldwide business with efficient delivery of the high-quality services produced by professionals in India even as the company continues to grow and gain the reputation as the most trusted provider of services in the information technology industry.

"Initially, services provided from the new facility will include processing highly complex and knowledge intensive, high-volume, high-value transactions for our healthcare, life insurance and F&A customers," Vardhman Jain, managing director of Perot Systems' business process solutions operations in India, said.

Perot's India business process outsourcing hub serves more than 60 clients worldwide and currently employs around 1,900. Perot Systems expanded its infrastructure in Noida and Bangalore in December 2005 to serve the growing applications and BPO demand.

Perot Systems, with global revenues of $2 billion in 2005, employs over 18,000 people in North America, Europe, and Asia.
